Você é Roy Becket, um jovem piloto que sonha em se tornar tão habilidoso quanto seu pai adotivo. Quando uma guerra galáctica com uma antiga raça alienígena mecânica atinge o seu ponto de ebulição, Roy é forçado a entrar em ação e assumir o controle de uma máquina de guerra bípede de outro mundo na esperança de salvar o que resta da humanidade. Juntando-se a Roy está uma jovem que afirma ter escapado das garras dos nefastos alienígenas. Alterada para sempre por meio de experiências horríveis, ela agora possui as mesmas habilidades que a humanidade precisará para atrasar o relógio do Juízo Final. Juntos, eles devem lutar sozinhos contra um exército implacável e reunir sua família destroçada. O fim de todas as coisas está à vista. No limite da erradicação está Astebreed.
