Os jogadores controlam Bathoryn, um herói em um mundo gótico, que busca libertar sete grandes torres de 7 senhores mortais.
Bathoryn deve abrir caminho através de uma terra condenada repleta de horríveis inimigos de pixel art antes de subir (ou às vezes descer) cada torre, derrotando quebra-cabeças, armadilhas e monstros. No centro de cada torre, ele deve enfrentar um poderoso suserano. Derrote-o e a missão de Bathoryn continua. Fracasse e você morrerá de forma horrível – atacado por lobisomens, desintegrado por monstruosidades flutuantes, esmagado por grandes pesos ou despedaçado por lâminas ocultas. E você irá falhar...
