A história progredirá conforme você luta contra as almas que vagam pelo limbo. Além disso, ao derrotar inimigos específicos, aparecerão “Pensamentos de Danmatsuma”, que ao “chorar para purificar” desenvolverão mentalmente o protagonista. De acordo com isso, você pode obter armas chamadas “Shisou” ou “Armadura Mental”.
