The Nightmare Princess apresenta a nova personagem Valgyrie, que é capaz de montar armadilhas e também atacar diretamente os inimigos com chutes. O jogador pode causar dano a um inimigo pisando nele após ele cair no chão ou chutá-lo para armadilhas. Modos A principal característica do jogo é chamada de Modo Quest, que apresenta 100 novas missões para completar. Nele, o jogador joga como Valgyrie, podendo obter novas armadilhas e habilidades. O jogo também incluirá uma opção intitulada Deception Studio, que permite aos jogadores criar seus próprios personagens, inimigos e missões. Peças para Deception Studio podem ser adquiridas jogando o Quest Mode.
